As part of our commitment to provide the best quality in nutritional supplements, Amway maintains control of its production process from the very beginning. To accomplish this, we have ownership of our own certified organic farms. The plants grown on the Nutrilite™ farms, and the ingredients derived from those plants, are rich in important phytonutrients to support optimal health for you and your family.

For this installment of our “Farm in Focus” series, we’re proud to introduce you to Rancho El Petacal, located in Jalisco, Mexico.

Our Farm in Jalisco, Mexico

Rancho El Petacal covers 1,589 acres of land in southwestern Mexico, where farmers have the ideal temperate growing climate with plenty of sunshine and rainfall. In addition, the soil here is enriched with minerals by ash deposited from a nearby volcano.

All together, these form the perfect conditions for organically growing and harvesting nutrient-rich plants for processing into ingredients used in existing Nutrilite™ products. The farm also offers us the opportunity to grow test plots for research.

Why go to the trouble and expense of organic farming?

Plants produce phytonutrients as a defense mechanism against pests and the environment. When crops are sprayed with chemicals that defend the plants, they don’t have to work as hard to produce phytonutrients and the result is less-nutritious produce.

Reforestation and education

Our reforestation programs have helped to increase biodiversity and maintain the natural equilibrium of the area. Plus, the Nutrilite™ farm at Rancho El Petacal runs a Cultural and Education Support Center locally. Through this center, we provide basic education on nutrition and ecology, along with help for local projects, such as building a new church in the community.
