ArtistryTM skincare and cosmetics once again had backstage passes to New York Fashion Week (NYFW®) as the official makeup sponsor for designer Pamella Roland’s show.
Artistry Global Makeup Artist Rick DiCecca and a crew of “passionistas” helped prep the models with a look designed specifically by Rick and Pamella to accompany her Spring/Summer 2019 collection, which was inspired by the Indonesian island of Bali.
“I focused on the color, texture and tranquility of Bali,” Rick said, “choosing a bold and sunny blush shade on the eyes and adding a touch of shimmer to create a calm, almost serene makeup look to balance the soft and sharp lines of the clothing.”
Helping Rick recreate the look backstage was an incredible group of Amway Independent Business Owners (IBOs). Empowered and passionate makeup artists, the group is the embodiment of the new Artistry Studio line. They were selected after auditioning earlier in the year and demonstrating they had the skills needed to handle the demands of a NYFW runway.
#ArtistryStudioNYC
Not only was NYFW the debut of Pamella’s Spring/Summer 2019 collection, it also was the debut of exciting new Artistry products: the Artistry StudioTM New York collection and Artistry Signature SelectTM Personalized Serum.
The media in attendance, along with the models who showcased the Pamella Roland collection, were among the first to try the new Artistry Studio collection, including Artistry Studio™ Lash Boosting 3-in-1 Mascara, which is already available for purchase.
So, want to bring a little New York to your town? Here’s how to recreate Rick’s stunning Artistry look from the New York runway. (Note: The rest of the Artistry Studio New York collection will be available Oct. 10!)
Prep
After cleansing and toning your face with Artistry Hydra-V Fresh Foaming Cleanser and Fresh Toner, treat it with new Artistry Signature Select™ Personalized Serum with Hydration and Brightening amplifiers.
Eyes
Apply eye shadow Shade #1 from the Artistry Studio™ On The Go Palette in Midtown Medium over the entire eye area, from the lash line up under the brow.
Apply Shade #5 from the palette over the eyelid, starting from the upper lash line and blending over the eyelid to just below the eye crease.
Mix Shade #2 and #3 from the palette onto an eye shadow brush and buff into the eye crease to create soft definition. Apply Artistry Studio™ Limited Edition Smudge 2-in-1 Eye Stick in Brooklyn Brown along the upper lash line.
Finish with mascara: Using the multiple row side of the Artistry Studio™ Lash Boosting 3-in-1 Mascara wand in the fully elongated position, sweep mascara over top and then under the upper lashes to add volume.
Now dip again into the mascara tube and twist the wand to condense the bristles. Apply the mascara to lashes by wiggling the multi-row side of wand at the lash roots as you’re applying it to create lift. Finish by using the Mohawk Side of the wand in the elongated position to separate the lashes.
Cheeks
Swipe your blush brush over Shade #5 from the Artistry Studio™ On The Go Palette in Midtown Medium. Tap off any excess powder and sweep over cheeks, starting on the “apples” and sweeping up over your cheekbones toward the temples.
Lips
Apply the Artistry Studio™ Tinted Lip Balm in City Coral to your lips with your fingertip to create a soft stain effect on the lips.
Highlights
Sweep a small tapered fluffy brush over the Gold, Rose and Platinum Highlighters from the Artistry Studio™ Broadway Lights Illuminating Light Up Compact. Blend over the top of your cheekbones and on the cupid’s bow just above the center of your upper lip.
Using the #5 shade from the On The Go Palette, drape the face with color, sweeping around the temples, along the jaw line close to the ears and below the ears along the neck.
That’s it! Whether you’re headed to a New York runway or dinner at your favorite restaurant, you’ve got the look to take you there.
