Artistry and Pamella Roland take New York Fashion Week

Artistry Makeup Artist Rick DiCecca demonstrates his signature look on a model for Amway Independent Business Owners helping him at Pamella Roland's show for New York Fashion Week (NYFW)

Artistry Makeup Artist Rick DiCecca and designer Pamella Roland joined forces once again to showcase an amazing look for New York Fashion Week (NYFW®†), this time inspired by intricate stained glass windows.

“Signature silhouettes, reworked using new techniques, are fashioned with exquisite fabrics and embroideries to represent the opalescent technique used in Tiffany stained glass,” Pamella said of her Fall/Winter 2019 collection.

With the Artistry brand as the official makeup sponsor for Pamella’s show, Rick worked from that same inspiration, creating a unique look with defined lines.

“My goal was to create a bold eye look that brings definition and shape to the face, reflecting the opalescent techniques of the stained glass inspiration,” he said. “This is counterbalanced with a hint of metallic to signify the structure and the light that passes through. I used a nude or a berry shade on the models lips to create a balance.”

To create that bold look for the New York runway, Rick tapped into the colors and shades in the newly released Artistry Studio™ Parisian Style Edition.

The new collection features three eye palettes, two lip options, a multi-functional brow shaper, a makeup setting spray to lock in your look and more. Follow the steps below to recreate Rick’s signature look for Pamella’s show.

A variety of products from the Artistry Studio Parisian Style Edition lay on a black cloth, ready for makeup artists to start using at New York Fashion Week.

Prep

Always start with a freshly washed face. After using Artistry Hydra-V™ Fresh Toner, treat your face with Artistry Signature Select™ Personalized Serum using the hydration and brightening amplifiers.

Next, hydrate! Use Artistry Hydra-V™ Refreshing Eye Gel Cream and Artistry Hydra-V™ Replenishing Moisture Cream.

Lastly, apply Artistry Exact Fit® Perfecting Concealer and Artistry Hydra-V™ Sheer Weightless Foundation SPF 15.

Cheeks

Before you set the foundation with the Artistry Exact Fit® Perfecting Loose Powder, while the Artistry Hydra-V™ Sheer Weightless foundation is still damp, dot Artistry Studio™ Parisian Cheek and Lip Duo in Polaris Pink along the cheekbones.

Using a foundation brush or your fingertips, blend it out to create a luminous color glow.

Eyes

Start with shade #3 from the Artistry Studio™ Parisian Eye Shadow Palette in Shimmering Watercolors and a business card.

To achieve the straight, sharp, vertical line on the outer and inner edge of the eye, use the business card as a guide when applying the shadow over the entire eye area, starting from the upper lash line and blending up to the brow.

Smudge the Artistry Studio™ NYC Limited Edition 2-in-1 Eye Stick in Brooklyn Brown along the upper and lower lash line. Set the pencil color with a mixture of the shade #3 from the Artistry Studio™ Parisian Eye Shadow Palette in Shimmering Watercolors and shade #5 from City of Lights palette. Combine them on the brush before applying.

Artistry Makeup Artist Rick DiCecca uses a business card to get defined lines while applying eye makeup to a model for Pamella Roland at New York Fashion Week.

Apply this same mixture of shades #3 and #5 from the two palettes on the inner and outer edge of the eye, using the business card again to create more definition to the shape.

Using the multi-row side of the Artistry Studio™ Lash Boosting 3-in-1 Mascara wand, sweep mascara over the top and then under the upper lashes.

“The reason we go over the top is because, as that top layer dries, it pulls those lashes back,” Rick said.

Next, twist the wand to condense the bristles and apply mascara to lash roots by wiggling the multi-row side of wand as you’re applying it.

Finish with the wand fully extended and, using the single “Mohawk” row, sweep through lashes to add length and definition.

Brows

Apply the Artistry Studio™ Parisian 3-in-1 Brow Shaper to the eye brows to create your desired brow shape.

“Using the applicator with the cap and the brush gives you much more balance, so don’t forget to snap the two together to get the best application,” Rick said.

Dip a brow brush or a disposable mascara wand or spoolie into shade #2 from the Artistry Studio™ Parisian Eye Shadow Palette in City of Lights and brush through your inner part of your brows, omitting the outer tail.

Next, clean the brush off and dip it in shade #5 from same palette. Brush that color through the tail of your brow.

Lips

Apply Artistry Studio™ Parisian Liquid Lip Color in Notre Dame Nude to your lips. “This is a rich, creamy conditioning color. You can apply it sheer or you can wear it bold,” Rick said.

Set your makeup

To set your makeup, use Artistry Studio™ Limited Edition Parisian Style Makeup Setting Spray. Prime the sprayer, then hold it 8-12 inches from your face, and spray 1-3 times. Allow the setting spray to dry.
