Trick or Treat? Give me something good to eat!

A mom trick or treats with her kids

As Halloween rolls around, we may be thinking about indulging in a few goodies from a plastic pumpkin at work or breaking open our own stash well before the first doorbell rings.

Before grabbing something containing chewy nougat, gooey caramel or creamy chocolate, don’t forget to keep in mind the calories each of these tempting treats contain.

We have some helpful comparisons to make sure when you treat yourself, you’re not falling for the trick of overindulging.

Three red apples sit on a counter.

Apple vs. Candy Apple

Which treat will we eat?
Naturally sweet or sweet-on-sweet?

The difference: 120 calories

A small glass bowl of sliced fruit.

Peanut Butter Cup vs. Fruit Cup

MINI PEANUT BUTTER CUPS (5 each) 220 calories vs. FRUIT CUP 60 calories

Two ears of corn lie on a counter with the leaves partially pulled away to reveal the kernels.

Candy Corn vs. Ear of Corn

For some people, choosing between these two is a can of corn. Easy peasy. Peas are also sweet, and even better for us than corn!

Fill the nutrient gaps

If we find ourselves snacking on more candy than usual this season, it’s reassuring to know that in addition to regular exercise and eating lots of fruits and vegetables, we can help fill any gaps in our nutrition with supplements, like Nutrilite™ Double X™ Vitamin/Mineral/Phytonutrient Supplement.

Phytonutrients arm us with antioxidant protection, targeting key groups of cell-damaging free radicals. What healthy Halloween habits you like to share? Let us know in the comments below! And learn more about Nutrilite supplements by visiting the websites for Amway US or Amway Canada.
