Summer recipes to take your celebrations up a notch

Do you need some new recipe ideas for your summer celebrations? It’s easy to fall into a rut of store-bought drinks and dips, but little tweaks or homemade touches here and there can make a world of difference.

Below we have recipes for refreshing popsicles that taste great while also providing electrolytes and B vitamins, delicious guacamole with a tortilla chip alternative that boosts the snack’s protein content and two summer spritzers featuring XS™ Energy Drinks for flavorful, energizing mocktails.

Even if you don’t follow these recipes exactly, they can be used as great inspiration to create your own concoctions for your next gathering, celebration or simply for yourself and your family.

Sweet ‘N’ Tart Popsicles


  • 6 popsicle molds or plastic cups
  • 6 popsicle sticks


  • 1 cup lemonade
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 XS Raspberry Lemonade Sports Twist Tube
  • Handful of raspberries


Combine all liquids. Distribute the raspberries evenly among the six cups. Fill each with liquid and freeze for at least four hours.

Killer Guacamole


  • 2 avocados
  • 1 large tomato, diced
  • ¼ red onion, diced
  • ½ cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • Juice from half a lime
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 oz. queso fresco
  • Radish slices for garnish
  • XS Sriracha Lime Protein Crisps


Put peeled, pitted avocado in medium bowl and mash. Add the tomato, onion, cilantro and lime juice and combine well. Add salt to taste. Put into a serving bowl and garnish with queso fresco and radishes. Serve with a XS Sriracha Lime Protein Crisps for a protein-packed snack with the good kind of fat.

Grapefruit Green Tea Spritzer


  • Two glasses
  • Muddler


  • Mint leaves
  • 1 C. hot water
  • Green tea
  • Pink Grapefruit XS Sparkling Juiced Energy Drink
  • Juice of half a lime or lemon
  • Ice
  • Cucumber, lime or lemon slices for garnish


Muddle two mint leaves in a glass. Pour hot water into the glass and brew a cup of green tea. Add the XS Pink Grapefruit Sparkling Energy. Next, squeeze in the juice of half of a lime and stir. Fill another tall glass with ice and pour in the mixture. Garnish with a cucumber slice and a mint leaf and enjoy!

Rosemary Citrus Spritzer


  • Muddler
  • Heat-proof container


  • 1-2 sprigs of fresh rosemary
  • ½ cup hot water
  • 1 ¼ cup chilled, unsweetened grapefruit juice
  • 1 ½ tsp lemon juice
  • Pinch of salt
  • Ice
  • Citrus XS Energy Drink, chilled
  • Grapefruit wedge for garnish


In a heat-proof container, add 1 sprig of rosemary and ½ cup hot water. Stir and muddle, then remove stems. Next add the unsweetened, chilled grapefruit juice, lemon juice, pinch of salt and ice. Slowly add XS Energy Drink. Add more ice as needed, garnish with grapefruit wedge and sprig of rosemary.
