Saturday nights in college football create tremendous atmospheres and compelling match-ups. Such was the case this past weekend in Madison, WI where undefeated Nebraska looked to continue its perfect season against defensive-minded Wisconsin.
The hype lived up to the billing. The Badgers scored on the first possession of overtime and held the Cornhuskers out of the end zone on the subsequent drive to earn a hard fought 23-17 victory. The win moved Wisconsin (5-2, 3-2 in the Big 10) up to 8th in the Amway Coaches Poll while Nebraska (7-1, 4-1) fell four places to 10th. After surrendering a late lead two weeks ago at home to Ohio State, the Badgers redeemed themselves and are back in the hunt for the Big 10 championship.
