Coaches’ Poll Monday Morning Huddle #10

The Iron Bowl between Alabama and Auburn is one of the premier rivalry grudge matches in college football. In this past weekend’s contest, the 16th-ranked (Coaches’ Poll) Tigers had a chance to dent the top-rated Crimson Tide’s perfect season and national championship hopes.

As eleven other teams have discovered, Alabama is on a mission. The Crimson Tide got 286 passing yards from QB Jalen Hurts in a 30-12 victory over Auburn in Tuscaloosa. The victory keeps Alabama (12-0) at No. 1 heading into next week’s SEC Championship versus 16th-ranked Florida. The loss dropped Auburn (8-4) three spots to 19th. Impressive stat: the Crimson Tide defense did not allow a touchdown in the month of November as they look primed for back-to-back titles and fifth overall since 2009.
