When you’re in the acting business, having a plan B is kind of important – even if you’re as successful as Leonardo Daniel.
Leonardo is a well-known actor in Mexico with many television shows listed in his bio. Even so, he and his wife, Lilan Davis, felt they needed some other financial options because acting is based on temporary projects.
That’s when his wife heard about the Amway business.
Having a plan B
“She really got very excited about the business,” Leonardo said. “She told me about it, and we did it thinking we needed to have a plan B – a plan A and a plan B.”
For Leonardo and Lilan, it turns out they didn’t have to choose between plan A and plan B – they would implement both.
Leonardo said he gives 100 percent to the Amway business when he’s not working on a production.
“Then I reduce my working hours in our Amway business, and my wife increases them,” he said. “But she’s extraordinary in the business. She’s much better than me.”
The couple’s success earned them a trip to the recent New Platinum Conference* at Amway World Headquarters in Michigan, something Leonardo was really looking forward to.
The couple lives in Miami unless Leonardo is working on a production in Mexico. They work an Amway business in both countries. Leonardo said he enjoys Amway’s quality products and the extra income the business can provide.
“And, of course, we have the opportunity to give our family a better life and many other families that we can help by sharing the business,” he said.
Willing to learn
Leonardo said he never thought about becoming an entrepreneur, and starting something he wasn’t experienced in was humbling. But he knew he could learn and took advantage of all the training opportunities Amway had to offer.
“In the U.S. business, as well as in the Mexico business, we have a lot of materials to learn from,” he said.
That’s the advice he would give to those who are new to the Amway business, too.
“To really learn from the business, to read everything we have available to do the business correctly,” he said.
“It is really an awesome opportunity, and my wife and I are very proud of being Amway IBOs.”

*The average monthly Gross Income for “active” IBOs was USD $207 (in the U.S.)/CAD $186 (in Canada). Approximately 48% of IBOs in the U.S., and 52% of IBOs in Canada, were “active.” IBOs were considered “active” in months in 2016 when they attempted to make a retail sale, or presented the Amway Independent Business Owner Compensation Plan (IBO Compensation Plan), or received bonus money, or attended an Amway or IBO meeting.
